Intruder Drill

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are among our highest priorities. To prepare everyone for potential emergencies, each school conducts various safety drills throughout the school year, including fire drills, lockdown (intruder) drills, and severe weather drills.

Before October 1st, each school will be conducting an intruder drill, also known as a lockdown drill. This drill is an essential component of our overall safety plan, designed to prepare students and staff for a situation where there is an imminent threat of violence or a clear and present danger on school grounds.

During the drill, staff and students will practice procedures such as securing/locking classroom doors, turning off lights, and remaining quiet in a designated safe place until an "all-clear" is given by administration or law enforcement. The Crisp County School System (CCSS) collaborates with local authorities to ensure our protocols are effective and that our school community can respond calmly and efficiently to real-life events.

The CCSS understands that mentioning these drills can be unsettling, but we hope that knowing we practice our safety plans will be reassuring to you. We are committed to providing a secure and supportive environment for all students.

If you have any questions or concerns about this or any other safety drills, please do not hesitate to contact your child's school office directly.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe.

The following drills are scheduled to take place beginning the week of September 22, 2025:

CCPS - Sept. 23

CCLC & FALP - Sept 23

CCMS - Sept. 24

CCES - Sept. 25

CCHS - Sept. 29

CCPK & CLA - Sept. 30

Sincerely,

Pamela Braziel
